Flaking Brazilnuts produces large slivers when compared to other products such as almonds or peanuts. The process also helps to intensify the flavour of the nut. These are particularly useful as a topping for a meal as the larger pieces would be more dominant. Although flaking the product makes it weaker and more prone to taking damage the material is ran over a sieve to try and reduce the risk of this occurring.
