Description
Rich, intricate flavour, well balanced and nuanced with butterscotch, vanilla and caramel. Deeply assertive and highly flavoured. Very fragrant with herbal sharpness. At the finish there is a softness and elegance. A most complex, unusual spirit.
Gosling Black Seal is a delectable dark rum, aged slowly in restricted quantities from Bermuda. Produced by a family owned business since 1806, Gosling is Bermuda’s oldest business house and largest exporter of locally made product. Black Seal began being sold by the bottle after World War 1, when it was packaged in Champagne bottles, the most widely available bottle at the time. The bottles were kept sealed tight with black wax, and the name Black Seal has been worn ever since.
Gosling Black Seal Rum has become synonymous with the Bermuda region – it is an essential ingredient in the local fish chowder, adds a certain island flavour to Bermuda’s favourite cocktail, the ‘Dark ‘n Stormy’ (Black Seal and Ginger Beer) and the national Bermudan drink.
